(The Forum for Qualitative Research (FQR

Faculty of Social Sciences

 Bar-Ilan Universty

The Forum for Qualitative Research (FQR) is "home" for faculty members as well as doctoral and master students who use the academic qualitative paradigm. The FQR, established in 2004, enables the expanding of horizons, cooperation and fruitful dialogue between colleagues from Bar-Ilan University and other universities and colleges. The aim of the FQR is to extend the knowledge of its participants regarding qualitative research methods and to conduct intensive dialogue on issues of qualitative research methods. In addition, the FQR serves as a platform for raising and thinking about practical ideas that may contribute to refining and consolidating issues of research methods as they arise from time to time.

The FQR includes two sub-forums. The first is the FQR Plenum designed for faculty members and doctoral students which includes monthly lectures by leading professors. The second sub-forum is a self-help group called FQR Doc designed for doctoral students guided by a doctoral student. At this once a month sub-forum its members raise methodological issues of concern which arise during the various stages of dissertation writing.

Participation in each sub-forum is free. Those wishing to attend are requested to contact Dr. Moshe Bensimon by e-mail: Moshe.Bensimon@biu.ac.il
